Welcome to W.D. Carr Photography! My name is Bill Carr and this is a little of my background. I grew up in the Denver area in the ‘70’s, graduating high school in 1982 and joined the work force. I started my interest in photography in elementary school, working with the yearbook group. I continued the interest into junior high and high school, photographing nature and family and friend’s weddings and special events. After graduating from high school, I worked for several years in the IT industry, until I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There I got the bug for being a Cop. I worked for several years in the Emergency Services field. I fell in love with the state and loved traveling around and seeing the different beautiful scenic byways that fill the state. I continued my love of photography, taking pictures around the state as I traveled. After several years as a Police Officer, I moved back to Denver and worked for several more years as a Police Officer. After a total of 23 years of law enforcement, I find myself having to retire because of medical/health issues. It has taken its toll on my mind and body. Throughout my career, I have continued learning and practicing my love of photography. Now that I find myself having to retire, I am starting a new chapter in my life and making a career out of my passion for the art of photography. I have photographed many friends and family weddings and special events over the years. All of those photos were given as gifts to those friends and family and they were proud to display those photos and were very thankful. It made me very glad to see how happy a photo could make them. I enjoy preserving the moments that are special to us and sharing them with friends and family. Now that I have retired from one career, I am starting a new one. By starting my own photography business, I am going to be able to make even more people happy capturing their special moments and sharing them. As much as I would like to do this for free, I am not a self made millionaire so I do have to charge for my craft. I am no different than you, I don’t want to pay for something I don’t want or need. I also don’t have money to waste. I will keep my rates as inexpensive as possible so that I can provide a product that fits what you want and is still within our budgets.
